Growing up in Philadelphia, PA, I thought the only path to success was higher education. This led me to pursue an MBA, hoping it would guide me towards a fulfilling career. I quickly found out that sometimes you need to take the wrong path to discover the right one.
I plunged into the corporate world, a choice more out of necessity than passion. My boss at the time became emblematic of my frustrations; micromanaging and bullying. I finally hit a breaking point. With my wife and two kids depending on me, and a regular income now gone, the stakes were high.
I devoured online courses and, at first, started haphazardly starting businesses. I even created a drink can cooler, but that failed. Then I discovered digital marketing. I found my passion and quickly built a client base in real estate and mortgage. This was where I discovered my knack for lead generation.
Just when I thought I had real estate marketing all figured out, a long-standing client wanted to cancel services. This mystery drove me to investigate. The result? I found that the gap for my client was he lacked the skill to turn leads into sales. So focused on automation and personalization to make the leads warm for him. Almost right away, things changed. We hit our first $100k month in 2020 and even made that skeptical client $50k in a single month.
By the close of 2022, my team and I onboarded over 1,000 clients and grew to a 60-strong business. Despite this success, I made the emotional decision to sell the business to broaden my impact across various industries. The handover to the new leadership coincided with our highest-earning month ever in May 2023 of $286k.
